Job Description
Summary:
Inspects, diagnoses, and performs repair and maintenance of all mobile equipment and operates equipment for maintenance purposes.
Performs a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including repairs to air, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical, systems and all safety devices. Repairs diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, planetary, and drive-line within limitations and calls for assistance as needed or required. Provides assistance in equipment inspections and identifies conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc.) and monitors performance as directed. Maintains proper repair parts inventory to repair tasks.
Safely uses hand tools, power tools, shop mechanics, hoist, etc. Listens to operator’s feedback and constructive criticism. Trains inexperienced personnel as needed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently observing all safety and health rules
Maintains good housekeeping practices in plants, tool, and parts house and shop areas
Is capable of performing equipment services according to the recommended guidelines and equipment service manuals
Follows established traffic patterns avoiding hazardous conditions
Required Skills
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED or higher
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years experience in Caterpillar and or heavy equipment repair
Formal diesel training required
Good communication skills
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Computer Skills - Word, Excel and Outlook
Exhibits high levels of competence, skills, and proficiency
